Japan Fire Station & Rescue Helpers Picture Book

About this book

Spend a whole day at a Japanese fire station! From the morning greeting under the lookout tower to the red trucks in the garage, the dash to get ready, hoses, ladders and water tools, training day, the call coming in to the dispatch room, the gentle rescue, the ambulance team, the fire-safety lesson the firefighters teach at school, and the thank-you open day: 500 words, each with a picture, kana, romaji and English, in 10 chapters of 50. Children always watch from the safe spot, holding a grown-up's hand, and fire itself is never a game — it is the dangerous thing the firefighters put out. Includes two safe play-along games: the Rescue Helper Game (carry a stuffed animal slowly along a cushion course, on the floor) and the Safety Spot Game (hunt the pictures for alarms, hydrants, extinguishers and exit signs). Scan the QR code for free online audio of all 500 words — Japanese and English.
