The Cat at Platform Zero Vol.34

About this book

（シリーズ共通の説明文に本巻の軸を差し替えて使用する） > Thirty-four volumes in, the valley turns at last to the room every story has passed through: the waiting room at Hoshizaki Station, with its long table, its window seats and its battered piano — the one room that exists only for waiting, open to anyone, with or without a journey. Over one whole year, a retired shopkeeper rebuilds his counter at the end of its table, a schoolgirl defends its window seat like a gate, a knitter fills its every delay with scarves for other people's journeys, and a clerk rules its minutes into a ledger — while the stationmaster learns the year's quiet discipline: to sweep the room, set out the tea, leave the table empty, and keep it, unreserved and unfilled, ready. Twelve complete, gentle stories about waiting together.
